From the article:
Veteran Silicon Valley homebuilder Citation Homes is poised to buy the old city of Fremont corporation yard, a 4.5-acre site that could support up to 135 residential units.
SCS Development Co., the parent company of Citation Homes, is the high bidder on the land, located at 37350 Sequoia Road. SCS/Citation has agreed to pay $13.15 million for the site, which is $3.6 million more than the minimum bid of $9.55 million.
The city corporation yard was replaced by a new maintenance center built in 2005 on Osgood Road. Since then, the city has updated its general plan, which calls for a more urban development plan in the city's downtown and Warm Springs districts. A consultant recommended to fund these projects by selling off unnecessary city-owned land, including the old corporation yard.
The land is zoned for medium-density residential, which allows for a range of 14.6 to 29.9 dwelling units per acre.
