Dublin City Council Denies Request by Summerhill Homes

In response to Summerhill Homes’ demand for an expedited approval process to cram more homes between Tassajara Road and Brannigan Street in Dublin, CA, the City Council has surprised many of its critics by unanimously denying the controversial request. According to Consultant Planner Mike Porto, a study like this would typically last six to nine months and, in some cases, take up to one year. Residents in and around Dublin Ranch Villages have yet to hear about the results of a similar study approved at the Promenade almost two years ago.

The Dublin Land Company property extends from the land just north of Gleason Drive all the way down to I-580. The parcels effectively covered by the study include the land just north of Gleason Drive down to Dublin Boulevard. The proposal by Summerhill Homes and land owner John DiManto would result in a net increase of homes by 152 and dramatically reduce the commercial footprint in the impacted area from 425,000 square feet to barely 110,000 square feet.
