The first 10 homes built at the former Bay Meadows horse race track officially hit the market on Saturday and all of them had sold out by the end of the day.
Homebuilders TRI Pointe Homes and Shea Homes released the first wave of homes in the long-awaited San Mateo project, which has drawn 700 visitors since it opened. Prices for the units range from $400 to $500 a square foot. At the 92 unit Landsdowne, which is being developed by Shea Homes, the smaller two-bedroom homes start at $705,000. A four-bedroom 1,914 square-foot home is $875,000. At TRI Pointe Homes’ Amelia, prices range from $710,000 to $910,000.
The townhouses are the first in what will eventually become a mixed-use community with 1,171 homes, five LEED-certified office buildings, The Nueva High School, and a traditional town square and main street retail. The project is being developed by master developers Stockbridge and Wilson Meany.
